About The Basement Group
The Basement Group is comprised of active and interested members of the County Committee from the 52nd Assembly District. We formed in the fall of 2018 and are working to increase participation and inclusivity in our AD. We take our name from the basement common room of an apartment building in Prospect Heights where we meet. If you are a CC member from the 52nd, we welcome you to join us in making our district more participatory and responsive!

Our Purpose
In addition to meeting regularly to discuss and stay abreast of County Committee happenings, we also support the Rep Your Block campaign, which assists everyday Brooklynites get on the County Committee. We have encouraged and helped form the official 52nd Assembly District Committee. We are working toward making that body more representative of the district and its membership. Our membership helps each other in many other campaigns and organizing efforts.
